Mary Audreymae “Audrey” Frisco Groetsch of Asheville passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2018 at her home. Born October 4, 1925 in New Orleans, LA, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Anna Frisco. She was a graduate of Eleanor McMain H.S. in New Orleans, LA, and had also resided in Metairie, LA until she relocated to Asheville, NC when she was 87. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse, James Hubert Groetsch, Jr.; daughter, Lynn Groetsch Platou; and sister, Sybil Frisco Achee. Surviving are her children, James H. Groetsch, III and his spouse, Diane, of San Ramon, CA, Janet G. Lotherington and her spouse, Adrian, of Sarasota, FL, Jack P. Groetsch and his spouse, Lesley, of Asheville, NC, Jeffrey P. Groetsch of New Orleans, LA, and John A. Groetsch and his spouse, Sarah, of Spartanburg, SC; nine grandchildren; and a great grandchild. Services and interment will be held at a later date in New Orleans, LA. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of CarePartners Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
