Lucinda Carol Watkins

Lucinda Carol Watkins, 80, resting in peace, she was born in Saluda, NC, to the late Leo and Helen B Pace. Preceded in death by her brother Cameron, Leaving behind many friends and family. She will be missed. She attended Lee Edwards High School in Asheville, and Mars Hill Jr. College. Her working years began in broadcast companies between Asheville and Raleigh, including WLOS. She was the secretary to Senator Jesse Helms in 1975, In the late 70"s she was the assistant to the director of the Western Governors Office of James Hunt. Ending her work career in the Buncombe County Sheriff's office in 2000. As a longtime member of the Humane Society, Nature Conservancy and others, her love for animals was apparent. She cherished her Basenji dogs Ruby and Max. Per her wishes, their ashes along with hers will rest in final peace in Saluda with Mama and Daddy.
