Linda Sue Lackey Smith, 77, of Asheville passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the John F. Keever Jr., Solace Center in Asheville, NC. Born December 1, 1940 in Dallas, TX, she was the daughter of the late Lena Pearl Simons. She was a graduate of Sunset H.S. in Dallas, and retired from NIEHS in the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina. She loved animals and enjoyed nature. Surviving is her daughter, Juli Reed of Leicester. No services will be held at this time. Condolences may be made to the family at www.ashevilleareaalternative.com.
