Kenneth Weston Prentice Jr.

Kenneth Weston Prentice, Jr, age 73, received the gift of eternal life after a courageous battle with prostate and bladder cancer on March 25, 2017.   He should always be remembered for his quiet acceptance and dignity in dealing with multiple serious health issues.      
Ken was a professional barber for over thirty years.  He was a licensed Eucharistlc Minister, chalice bearer and licensed Stephen Minister at the Cathedral of All Souls in Asheville.  He also served on the vestry, altar and flower guilds at the Church of the Resurrection, Little Switzerland, NC.  for several seasons.    
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth W. Prentice, Sr. and Esther S. Prentice of Hobe Sound, FL,  his sister Betty Jane Chandler Stevens and brother in-law Carroll Leeman of Round Pond, ME.
Ken is survived by his life partner Frederick Selph of Black Mountain, NC, sister Georgia Bell Leeman of Round Pond ME, and brother in-law Roy Stevens of Middleburg, FL.  He is also survived by daughter Robin Mae Chesser (David), three granddaughters, two great grand- children, a niece, two nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Cathedral of All Souls, Biltmore Village on 04/08/2017 at 11/00 a.m.  Interment will be in the Memory Garden at the Church of the Resurrection, Little Switzerland.
