Joseph Daniel West

Joe West, 65, of Marshall, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC. He had fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was a resident of Detroit, MI and Marshall, NC, and a proud veteran of the US Army. Preceding him in death were his parents John Solon West and Thelma Deal West; and his brother, Thomas Solon West. Left to remember him are his sister, Mary West Rice (David); sister-in-law Annette West; brothers, John West (Kay) of Mesa, AZ, Alan West (Sheryee) of Kannapolis, NC; and twin brother James West (Donna) of Fairview, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the VA Medical Center and the Solace Center.

Joe was a faithful member of Grapevine Baptist Church. Their love helped carry him through to the end. A celebration of his life will be held at the church following the morning worship service. Per his request, Joe would be pleased to have his family, friends, neighbors, and church family to join this fellowship on Sunday, September 23rd at 1:30 at Grapevine Baptist Church.
