Jimmie P Roberts

Jimmie P Roberts, age 78, peacefully went home to be with the Lord

Thursday, August 24, 2017. He was a loving, caring husband, dad, and papaw.  He was

born on March 25, 1939 in Leicester, NC.  Preceding him in death were his parents

Graham Dale Roberts and Geneva Pounders Roberts, and son Jack Roberts. He is

survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Wanda Grigg Roberts; daughters Jill Williams

(Cliff), Katrina Stepp (Jim), Cheryl Fair (Kevin), and son Greg Roberts; sisters JoAnn

Cole(Jerry) and Sandra Nowlin (Bronzy); grandchildren Israel, Zachary, Jordan (Lindy)

Wright; Bethany W Price (Austin); Mikayla and Silas Stepp; Chasity, Cameron, Chloe, and

Cyrah Fair.  Jimmie was a graduate of Clyde A Erwin, a veteran of the Army Reserves,

and a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.  He was employed with American

Enka, Avondale Mills, and retired from Gerber Products.  He enjoyed spending time

with his family, camping in the Smokies, and cheering on the Tar Heels, Panthers, and

Braves. Many thanks to John F Keever Solace Center for their special care. In lieu of

flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 200 Mount Carmel

Rd., Asheville, NC 28806. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00pm Monday, August 28,

at Mount Carmel Baptist Church.  The Family will receive friends at the church from 2:00

until 3:45pm.
