James Ballagh Moore

James Ballagh Moore, 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 10 at Valor Hospice at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC.  James was born on February 15, 1930 in Osaka, Japan.  He was the son of Presbyterian missionary parents, Boude Chambers Moore and Anna McAlpine Moore.  James served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and upon his return entered King University, where he met the love of his life, Roberta Glenn.  He graduated from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond VA.  James and Roberta served 17 years as missionaries in Japan. After returning to the States, he held pastorates in Gaffney, SC, Princeton, NC and did church planting in Oriental, NC.

James is survived by Roberta, his wife of 59 years, a daughter Sarah Witt (Terry) of Angier, NC, a son Roger Moore (Tiffany) of Simpsonville, SC, and four grandchildren, Rebecca Moore,  Austin Moore, Ben Young and Katie Young.

A 2:00 memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 18, at Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tom Cox officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before the service.
