Howard Lee Nickloy

Howard Lee Nickloy, 66, of Asheville, NC went into the arms of Jesus after being surrounded by his family and closest friends on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Missions Hospital in Asheville, NC. One of 6 children of Jack and Marcie Nickloy, Howard was born on October 5, 1950 in Fremont, OH. On July 11, 1981, Howard married the former Dana Beckner of Connersville, Indiana. They resided in Connersville for 8 years before being transferred to Asheville, NC in 1989. Howard was employed at D& M in Connersville, Indiana for 17 years before his transfer to Asheville, where he took early retirement after a total of 28 years of service. He would then go on to work as a bus driver for the Buncombe County School Corporation before officially retiring in 2011. Howard loved spending time with his loving wife, kids, and grandkids, but the golf course stole his heart. Any day was a good day when he was playing golf with a beer in his hand. Survivors include his wife, Dana Nickloy of Asheville, NC; children, Ryan Nickloy (Michelle) of Anderson, Indiana, Jennifer Miracle (Mike) of Connersville, Indiana, and Darin Nickloy of Clyde, NC; grandchildren, Dalton, Grant, Mariah, and Andrew all of Indiana; 2 sisters, Debbie Nickloy and Kimberly Martin, 1 uncle, Tom Merrill, and 1 aunt, Ruth Sas all of Ohio. Mr. Nickloy also has many living in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pam Fisher; a brother, Scott Nickloy; and an infant sister, Sandra Nickloy. Howard’s earthly body will be cremated in Asheville, North Carolina. A celebration of life gathering is being planned for early October in Connersville, Indiana.
