Gary Luther Tweed

Gary Luther Tweed, 69, of Hendersonville passed away peacefully on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.  Born on March 19, 1949 in Hendersonville, NC, he was the son of the late Luther and Medra Renner Tweed. He was a graduate of Hendersonville H.S. class of 1967 and later received his A.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  After college, he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  Mr. Tweed retired from Ajax Textiles after 12 years of service.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking.  Surviving are his devoted wife of 24 years, Judy Moore Tweed; children: Stacey Tweed and her spouse, Chris Friesen, of Grimsby, Ontario, Canada, Christy Evans and her spouse, Roger, of Hendersonville, NC, and Melissa Amiot of Concord, NC; sister, Joann Cantrell of Black Mountain, NC; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
