Ella Frances Buckner

Ella Frances Buckner, 84, of Fairview passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville. Born July 22, 1933 in Asheville, she was a daughter of the late William “Bill” Burton Edwards and Anne Lee Price Edwards. She was a graduate of Lee Edwards H.S. and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Asheville. Of her many passions in life spending time with her family was her favorite followed by crocheting and painting porcelain dolls. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse, Willard Buckner, Jr.; child, Frances Lynn Ward; grandchild, Shane Buckner, and three of her siblings. Surviving are her children: William “Steve” Buckner of Asheville, Phillip Dixon Buckner of Fairview, and Christopher Allen Buckner of Hickory; siblings: Elizabeth Gibson of Burnsville, Bobby Edwards and David Edwards both of Delray Beach, FL, Ben Edwards of Fairview, and Laura Faust of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren; and 3 wonderful great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at the Fairview Community Center on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CarePartners, John F.
