Daniel “Dan” Thomas Boyd Franklin, 57, of Biltmore Lake, NC passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville. Born July 13, 1962 in Elk Grove Village, IL, a son of Thomas Roland Franklin of Appleton, WI, and the late Nancy Leigh Boyd Franklin. He was an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin in Whitewater class of 1985. Dan was employed for 31 years with Kohl’s Department Stores in their corporate headquarters in Menomonee Falls, WI, and was a member of Biltmore Church – West Campus. Helping others was among his greatest priorities so he tried to be actively involved with both Stephen Ministries and W.N.C. Rescue Ministries. Among his many enjoyments in life was golfing, fishing, being a die-hard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time with his family. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by brothers, David and Rick Franklin, and mother-in-law, Pat Gross. In addition to his father is his devoted spouse of 32 years, Tanya Marie Franklin; children, Kayla M. Crawford and her spouse, Graham, of Sugar Hill, GA, and Ryan T. Franklin of Kissimmee, FL; siblings, Noel Franklin of Denver, CO, and Julie Franklin of Germantown, WI; and nieces and nephews, Nicole, Brandon, Jake, Ben, Lucy, and Sadie. The family will receive friends from 3-7 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Biltmore Lake Club House, 80 Lake Drive, Biltmore Lake, NC 28715 with Rev. Jeremy Woods offering blessings at 3:30 PM.
