William E. Buckner

William E. Buckner, 85, of Candler passed away on March 3rd following a long illness. The son of the late Conley R and Fannie L. Buckner, he was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mr. Buckner was predeceased by his wife Hilda Buckner in 2008. He is survived by his three daughters, Diane Foster, Debra Blankenship and Marcia Plemmons, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister, June Binka of San Antonio, TX and Dr. James Buckner (sister in law Mary Buckner) of Atlanta, GA. Mr. Buckner was cremated. A memorial service will be held at the Red Oak Cemetery, Red Oak School Rd, Jupiter at 11:00 AM on March 11 with Reverend Jimmy Dean Hensley officiating.
