Sharon was my manager at The wine Spectrum, at the time a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company. She was a great manager who cared about the people who reported to her. As I recall, Sharon and I shared a mutual interest in world history. We had a little game we would play with asking each other trivia questions about history. One day Sharon posed the question to me of what happened in The Seventeenth Century that was so significant for Italy. I searched my mind but could't think of a thing. I reasoned The Renaissance was long gone and could not come up with the answer which was the discovery of Mount Versuvus volcano. She got me again as she usually did.
Another embarrassing incident which stands out in my mind was the day a number of us was going out for lunch. I was driving an old VW Beetle and I had no idea the back floor board was rusted out. I invited Sharon to ride with me and when she attempted to get in the back seat, she went thru the floorboard. I was so embarrassed and thought how is this going to affect my career but fortunately Sharon was very understanding.
I will miss Sharon and have many great memories of her, both as my manager and my friend.

I "worked out" with Sharon at the YMCA. I didn't know her well but I admired her so much. She was so modest but so accomplished. She shared some of what she went through with Brett's illness and her own. She was extremely strong and gracious. I miss her so much.
