Mary Anne Eldridge

Mary Anne Eldridge was born to Howard and Mary Jane Baker on June 1, 1942 in Troy, OH. On September 24, 1961 Mary Anne married Kelly Day and from that union she had five children Rachel (Michael Davis), Michael (Kitt), Stephen (Susan), Nathan (Kim) and Christopher (Pam). On September 25, 1993, Mary Anne married Paris Eldridge in Lafayette, IN. They relocated to Black Mountain, NC in 2004 where they lived happily in their home in the mountains and relished new friendships with their growing group of friends. Paris has two children from a prior union Kris Eldridge (Kimberly) and Angela Beckefeld (Darrin). Predeceasing Mary Anne are her parents and a sister Nancy Ellen. She is survived by her four siblings Beverly (Ezra), Lloyd (Renee), John (Emmie) and Paul (Sandra), her step-mother, Martha Baker, and Martha’s two children, Phyllis Miller (Gerald) and Charles Brumbaugh (Marlene). Mary Anne is also survived by 14 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends. Mary Anne thoroughly enjoyed being a member of Covenant Community Church, Order of St. Luke, and the Blue Ridge Emmaus community. She loved serving and befriending the homeless. Mary Anne found prayer to be a powerful means of communicating with God and is thankful for the prayers that He answered throughout her life. Her wish is that her family, friends and church continue to communicate with God through prayer. A memorial service will be held at Covenant Community Church located at 11 Rocket Drive, Asheville, NC 28803 on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
