JoAnne Lightle Willette

JoAnne Lightle Willette, 90, of Asheville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 20. 2018 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville. Born July 29, 1927 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ruby Lightle. She was an alumnus of the University of Maryland where she had received a PhD, and was employed as a sociologist for the Development Associates Inc. in Arlington, VA. She was a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), and taught classes at Blue Ridge Center for Lifelong Learning in Hendersonville. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse, Thomas James Willette. Surviving are her children, Kathryn W. Harper and her spouse, Joe, of Bluffton, SC, and Thomas Mark Willette of Soldotna, AK. No services are planned at this time.
