James Harvey Chandler

James Harvey Chandler, 66, of Marshall went home to be with the lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at his residence.
A native of Madison County, Harvey was the son of the late Claude and Effie Chandler.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Calvin and Donnie Chandler.
Harvey made his home in Marshall and retired from Buncombe County.  Harvey found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and friends.  He was not a man of many words but had great impact on everyone he met.  
He is survived by his wife Pat Chandler, of the home; son, Dewayne Chandler, of Marshall; step-daughter, Kristi Wintle and husband Jimmy of Asheville; step-son, Matthew Turbyfill and wife Laura of Alexander; step-daughter, Amanda Brower of Weaverville; Grandchildren; Austin Chandler, Hali Luck and husband James, Wesley Chandler, Taylor Adam and Emily Wintle, Brooklyn Turbyfill, Madison Ryleigh and Camden Brower, and Annabel Thomas; Siblings; Charles Chandler of Marshall, Clinton Chandler of Ravenna Ohio, Kathy Roberts of Marshall; sister in law Missy Chandler of Marshall.  Also surviving are many cherished nieces and nephews and life-long friends.
Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, January 6th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Marshall, NC at 11am.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service and immediately following service lunch for family and friends will be served in the fellowship hall.
In Lieu of flower, memorials may be made to Hospice of Madison County, or the Cancer Foundation.
