Jack Leon Weatherford

Jack Leon Weatherford, 86, of Swannanoa, NC, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Brian Center in Weaverville, NC.

Jack was born March 23, 1931 in Dillon, SC, to the late Eva Weatherford. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Weatherford; son, Bobby Weatherford, and sister, Lucille Newton; godparents, Mr. and Mrs. LC Turner; brothers: Carl Turner, Earnest Turner, Pat Cable, Louise Gause, and a lifelong friend, Willis Summey.

Jack retired from Southern Railroad and Buncombe County Schools.

Surviving Jack is his daughter, Pam Long and husband, Gary of Fletcher, NC; grandchildren, Brittany and Blake Long, and many nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
