Doris Eugenia (Dawson) Coston

Doris Eugenia Dawson Coston, 92, of Asheville, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Western North Carolina Baptist Home in Asheville, NC. Born April 15, 1925 in Pitt County, NC, she was a daughter of the late John Caleb Dawson and Lillian Mumford Dawson. She was a graduate of Grifton H.S., and retired from Dupont’s Kinston Plant after 30 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kinston, NC. One of her passions in life was making crafts. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse, William George Coston, and siblings, Frank and James Dawson, Edna Jensen, Mildred Loromer, Ida Cudney, and Catherine McLawhorn. Surviving are her daughter, Patti Foxworth and spouse, George “Sonny” Foxworth, of Asheville, NC; Siblings, Ruth Koldjeski and spouse, Ted, of Greenville, NC, and Joyce Erikson of Durham, NC; grand-daughter, Julie Ashley Foxworth of Weaverville, NC; and ten nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Westview Cemetery in Kinston, NC. Memorials may be made in her honor to the First Baptist Church, 2600 Rouse Road, Kinston, NC 28504.
