Ballard, Betty Jayne, 86, daughter of Malcolm and Marcia (Judd) Browning, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2017 in Asheville, North Carolina, after being diagnosed with cancer in January. Betty is survived by her daughter, Cheryl L. Pletcher of Asheville, North Carolina, her daughter-in-law, Amy L. Pletcher, three siblings, Rachel (Browning) Bailey, Nancy (Browning) Kasting, and James L. (June) Browning, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Betty, or Betts, as she preferred to be called, was a neuro-diagnostic technician by trade and a talented artist by choice. But the role at which she excelled without parallel, was as a loving and devoted mother.
Her faith and service to God were always at the forefront of everything she did. All who knew Betts well were blessed to be the recipients of her compassion, her sense of humor, and her loving heart.
A celebration of life for Betts will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Kurtz, IN, on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 1 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider sending a donation to the V Foundation for Cancer Research, www.jimmyv.org.
