Arthur Armand Poulin of Mars Hill, NC, beloved husband of Judith Dayle Henry for 42 years, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep February 8, 2017. He was 68 years old.
Arthur was born in a lumber camp (T4R9) near Brownville Junction, Maine in 1948, to the late Arthur Paulin and the late Flora Paradis. He was a natural in the outdoors and enjoyed a lifetime of exploration, hunting, and fishing. Art spent many years in Colorado, Tennessee, and lived in Western North Carolina for twenty-two years.
Art was a Vietnam Veteran and served with the US Army, and a member of The American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America. He was also a member of the US Army Boxing team.
Art spent many years in commercial construction as a gifted heavy equipment operator who was referred to by his peers as "The Dirt Surgeon". After his mid-life medical retirement, he founded Poulin Investments, the family owned real estate investment group.
Art, also affectionately known as Pooh Bear, is survived by his three children, Jonathan Poulin of Mars Hill, NC, Mary Beth Bryant (Jon) of Colorado Springs, CO, Kaylen Cirillo (Chris) of Lawrenceburg, KY, his grandchildren, Jonathan II, Jax, Jillian, Jarett, Christine, and Kenny.
Arthur had five siblings, Chester Anglehart (Sharon), Victoria Spencer (Roy), Pauline Paulin, Peter Paulin, and Joanne McLaughlin, as well as many loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Private interment will be in the spring at the Historical Riverside Cemetery in Asheville. For memorial contributions, please consider Vietnam Veterans of America.
